MediCupping™/Vacu therapies™
Massage Cupping
Massage cupping has been used for centuries to assist the body in healing. The method has stood the test of time as a viable and highly effective treatment. In ancient times the earliest tools were created from hollowed animal horns and later formed from bamboo cups. The cups were later formed of glass. There are ancient records in the Egyptian history dating from 1550 B.C. and Chinese text dating as far back as 28 A.D. which discuss the applications of the cups for such conditions as fever, pain, vertigo, menstruation, appetite, constipation, and accelerating healing. In the early 1800’s-1900’s European and American Doctors still widely used cupping.
As the design of the cups evolved so did the refinement of the therapeutic applications. Today the cups can be found made of glass, plastic and silicone. We utilize all forms depending on the treatment, location and condition being addressed. Massage cupping helps to pull and release inflammation and toxins from the body tissues so that the skin and lymphatic system can readily eliminate them. One of the most amazing aspects of this technique is the separation that the vacuum produces in tissue layers. This enables water absorption and renewed blood flow to undernourished and dehydrated tissue, which is invaluable in pre-and post surgery treatments.
Massage Cupping techniques sedate the nervous system, move stagnant lymph and blood, hydrate and nourish tissue, shift tissue PH, and can be used on acute and chronic conditions for all ages. Massage cupping or Medi-cupping draws the inflammation out from deep in the tissues to be released. The increased local blood supply to the muscles and skin will bring nourishment and allow for toxins to be carried away via the lymphatic system. Integrating the application of liniments, analgesics, plant hydrosols and essential oil blends immediately after treatment will enable absorption of the product deep into the tissue. Conditions of chronic and acute pain can be relieved with minimal discomfort and tense muscles softened quickly and easily.
Manual Vacuum Sets
This unique brand of bodywork uses suction to lift soft tissue as the cup moves. Manual vacuum sets allow the therapist to create suction and release with control of pressure and ease of movement. This versatility provides a wide range of applications, from light lymphatic pumping drainage through the powerful suction movements used for deep tissue and scar release. Utilizing specific movements, in different combinations, quickly facilitates the elimination of debris and the release of rigid soft tissues.
Medicupping/VacuTherapy
MediCupping™ also referred to as VacuTherapy uses a machine to create the suction and pumping movements that create a soothing, consistent and effective treatment. The VacuTherapy equipment has the advantage of defined modes and pressure consistency which provides successful results in addressing a variety of conditions. While the therapist still maneuvers the cups by hand, the VacuTherapy machine ensures a consistent pressure and rhythmic pumping to move the blood, lymph and lift the body tissue. One of the most beneficial applications of Medicupping/VacuTherapy is for preparation and recovery from surgical procedures. MediCupping™ therapy accelerates patient progress and recovery. Physicians are amazed at the speed and total recovery that their patients exhibit when MediCupping™/Vacutherapies™ are used to complement their surgical work. The therapeutic effect on the nervous system is sedating and people often experience a deep state of relaxation. On a deeper therapeutic level, this nervous system sedation is beneficial for those with high blood pressure, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, chronic headaches, fibromyalgia and neuralgia.
